Hi folks, i've never posted any figures on the 6th Brigade before so thought I would post this one. I have made it as a gift for a friend. The shirt,
waistcoat and coat are BGT, boots and trousers (dyed) are Dragon, and the hat, gunbelt and holster are home made. I still need to add a hatband and weather the
hat. The coachgun is one from CXR that I painted up.

Thanks Snake. I have had the jail for a while and it was going to be part of a sheriff/town marshal building....that I still haven't got around to doing
yet, lol.

Howdy Doc, Reminds me of Russell Crowe. Great looking holster and the jail looks smart. Keep em coming.

Awesome looking figure. It reminds me a bit of Mr.Crowe too.
I have a question, I've been drooling over the CXR stuff(cheap and I could easly fix them up) but I wanted to know what sort of plastic are they? I've read reviews of the knight and it talked about how the weapons were a very soft plastic. If so, is it easy to repaint? Or are they a hard type plastic? Thanks for any help on the question.
-It is a gift
-I know, it's called a Prince Albret |

Hi BHD. I can only comment on the shotguns as that is all I have ever had from there, but they are soft plastic. Being soft plastic put me off buying any at first (a friend sent me the two I have), but now I have seen them I plan to get some more. The only criticism I have is that the barrels on the longer one that I have tend's to have a slight upwards bend (see the pic below). I have bent it straight but it eventually reverts back upwards after a while. I may have another go but heat it up first. Having said that though, there is nothing to stop you shortening the barrels with a sharp knife without fear of it snapping (one advantage of the soft plastic) and for the price I think they are excellent. I didn't have any problems painting them and was pleased with the finished result.

That's one tough lookin' hombre, Doc. No flash, just grit. Very cool.
I'm not familiar with CXR. Where might I find them? Mark |

Thanks Mark. Circle X Ranch deals mainly with re-issue Marx stuff. Here's a link to the site http://www.circlexranch.com/

Really GREAT figure Doc!!! Fantastic gunbelt, the neckerchief is MUCH harder to make (get to lie right) than it can EVER look, and terrific overall weathering.
I like your hats! I have yet to be successful at making a good one and I am quite impressed. Nice work on the weapons re-paint. Whew! That's a lot to like
and I haven't even mentioned the jailhouse dio part, for cryin' out loud!!! LOL Love it!!!

looks great Doc,
As for the JW weapons, I got a rifle a while back that was pretty warped, I held it in boiling water by the butt till it was soft as cooked spagetti, ran some cold water over it till cool and it's pretty good now |

Thanks Oki. Since originally posting about the CXR stuff, I tried dunking them in hot water, straightening them and then dunking them in cold water and it
worked a treat

Hey Doc, what colors of paint did you use on those shotguns ? Everything looks great. I like the facade and the figure. I have one of those shotguns
(unpainted...as of yet) and am anxious to hear what you used on them and the pistol. They look like case harden steel but I don't think there's a
paint out there called that. LOL !!!

Thanks Gray Seabee. For the blueing, I mixed some acrylics, (semi gloss black, a blue and a silver) along with some water to thin it out slightly. The CCH was
done with acrylic red, blue to make a purplish colour (I can't find a purple that looks right) and a blue. They were all Tamiya (except for the silver) but
i'll dig out the exact # of each one and post it.

Hey Doc, what if you drilled below the barrels, between the splinter fore-grip and inserted a stiff wire ram-rod and glued it in place ? This might help keep
the barrel from bending upward. I'm in the process of painting my shoulder stock and fore-grip on my shotgun. You've inspired me !

I've managed to straighten them since the pic was taken Gray Seabee by putting them in hot & then cold water but thanks for the tip. Hope you post some
pics of your shotgun when your done.
