I have reported this, they are now asking anyone here, when was the last time you checked the archives?

I know around March I checked out them and got alot of red X's. There was some great stuff in there, it'd be a terrible loss if they went
into a black hole.

Mike, they've been gone for over 9 months. The red X's are on the pictures.

Mike, I don't know what date, but I copied some of the photos and tutorials this spring - some as late as May. Many of the posts had red "x"s for
the photos, but I think most of those were from people who had left or no longer had accounts from Photobucket, or wherever (they were "no longer
available" (or "supported") when you clicked on the x. That happened with some of mine when I rearranged my Photobucket album. It may have
happened sometime around when the '08 posts were archived. Sorry I didn't pay closer attention, but after I had gone thu them again this spring, I
didn't need to open them again.

Mike and Markh,
I don't want to dispute you... but the pictures were gone or were going about 9 months ago. Now, that could have been just for me? I used to click on the X to see if the picture would show but may have gotten tired of that. Anyway, it has been about nine months for me... and yes, just the pictures. |

Thanks Guys,
I have been talking with the powers that be: I now need everyones feed back, as I can not make this decision on my own it is y'all's board not mine, I am just your administraitor. They can bring back the Archives...But we will lose everything after the bring back date (new posts). I have ask could they not save the information and replace it..No, but we can, I am not a computer guru, so I can't. Also I do not know if the pictures will come back or not. So I would like everyones thoughts on this.. Thanks again, Mike |

Well Mike, obviously I'm pretty sure we'd all like to save both. What we need is our own Geek Squad, for which I don't qualify. Hopefully someone
can try to save them. But if it comes to a choice of one or the other, I would vote for keeping the most recent. Many of the real old posts had "x"s
for photos when I joined. There's fabulous info in both areas, but if something has to be sacrificed, I think it should be the incomplete area.
Having said that, is there anyone out there willing and able to try to save the efforts of the cadre that got us here? Remember, there are those who will never be able to repost any of their fine work. Thanks. ...Mark
